This has worked out really really well. At first I thought I wouldn’t like the fact that it was a dc battery cable connection rather than a ac outlet, but after using I am so glad it isn’t - I can keep it sharp as long as there is any vehicle close by - riding mower (which I have used the most) four-wheeler, or truck. No need to go back home to sharpen. The guide works great and it is easy to swap out sharpening spindles. The spindles wear out faster than I like. To that point, my one complaint is that the speed isn’t variable. It runs at a pretty high rpm, and I wish I could slow it down a bit.I highly recommend it nevertheless! No more hand and file sharpening!
This thing is amazing. I can sharpen my chain in about 5 minutes. I love it. I am curious how long it lasts, but I would buy another in a second if it dies.
