How to Use the Solar Garden Fountain

How to Use the Solar Garden Fountain

Place the fountain into the water, with the solar panels facing up and into the sun. It will automatically run every day.

Attached to the bottom of the fountain pump are suction cups that can be adhered to the bottom surface of your pond or birdbath, keeping it from floating around freely if that is what you want.

We were looking for something like this to attract birds to the birdbath we bought last month. I'm not sure if we got more birds since, but those that have already been coming are definitely having fun with the shower - lovely to watch! It works throughout the day when the sun shines. Great device.

Here is a 5* review from a pleased customer that you can trust. Refer to the photo to see how well the little solar fountain performs right out of the box. Clear instructions and easy to put together. All you have to do is put it in the sun and in the water for it to start working.I was not able to stick it to the bottom of our bird bath because it is old and made of rough concrete. To fix this, I turned a shallow bowl upside down in the bottom of the birdbath and stuck the suction cups to it.No complaints.

I read many of the reviews of this product that said it didn't work, stopped working, etc. So, I had pretty low expectations but there were features I liked: price, wire- / tether-free, size. My daughter bought a small inflatable pool to splash in this summer and I wanted to have something in there to keep the water moving when she wasn't in there, plus I thought having a little fountain in there would be kind of cool. And it has lived up to - and even exceeded - expectations. We've had it about a week, she's cleaned it once, and it still seems to be going strong. Shoots water up to 18 inches high. Please Note: the unit must be 100% in the direct sun with nothing shadowing the surface in order to perform its best. If even a butterfly lands on it, the height of the fountain is significantly reduced. Also ... if you remove it from the water for cleaning, etc, you need to cover the solar panels immediately so that the pump does not run when dry.

For the price I wasn't expecting much, but I figured I'd give it a shot. I have it in a birdbath under some trees so I thought it wouldn't get enough sun for the fountain to do more than burble a little - but I was pleasantly surprised to see that it worked really well... for about a week. Then it stopped. But before I came here to write a 1 star review, I did a little searching online and found out that the pump comes apart very easily so you can clean it. You pull off the front grill, then the solid piece under that, and then the rotors just pull out and you can clean the whole thing. That's what I did. And now it works just fine again. So anybody out there who is complaining that your fountain stopped - you probably didn't burn out the motor. Try cleaning it. Between the pollen and the birds using the birdbath as a toilet, the pump just gets slimy and needs to be cleaned. So I am happy with this purchase.

It does work just fine in the sunlight--I knew this beforehand. To people who complain it does not work in shade, it is their fault for not paying attention. The only problem I have is that all the spouts spray so high that the water runs out of the birdbath. I just wish there was a spout that would spray the water lower so that it would stay in the bowl. Even just a bubbler would be better. I have used it without any of the spouts, which is OK. For some reason my birds seem to be afraid of it, so it is out for now.

Works exactly as advertised... when it's sunny (or even a little overcast), the solar power is enough to create a nice constant spray of water. It comes with different nozzle heads for various heights. If it's too windy, suggest you remove the fountain nozzle and let it just dribble out, or else the water will spray out. On a windy day, with the fountain nozzle on, the water will be gone within an hour. I would imagine this is the case for any fountain, wind blows the water. As for suction, I just got a couple of small double-sided tape pieces and it's held like a champ to the bottom of my bird bath. I didn't want it floating so the tape worked well. As for the solar power, it HAS to be in direct sunlight. If you walk by it and your shadow goes over any part of the fountain, it will stop.Couldn't ask for more, exactly what I was looking for.
